The Mercy Call

Artist Description

The nucleus of The Mercy Call began about 2 years ago when Craig, Nathan and Mungo started jamming and playing gigs around Newcastle, Sydney and Gosford. Half way through 2005 they decided to knuckle down and get serious. This meant adding Kane on guitar and backing vocals, to enrich their sound, and changing lead vocals. After Kirt answered the call The Mercy Call was born.

All members have had previous experience playing live and recording. Recently we have played at The Cat and The Fiddle, The Cambridge Hotel, and The Lucky Country. Notable success so far: -Playing our first gig at The Lucky Country in Sep 05. Making an 8 song set having only practiced 3 weeks with Kirt before the gig.
-Headlining our two Sydney gigs at The Cat and The Fiddle. The gig was also recorded and is available for download in the audio section.
-Photo shoot with local artist Dave Kelly
-Recording our first demo in September and getting high rotation on Gosfords 2CCC 96.3FM Craig recently did a radio interview and The Mercy Call played an acoustic set live on the radio.
-Have had 1000 hits on the website since its birth in November 05.
Our ultimate goal is to be signed to a record label and be able to do this for a living. Our small goals for the next six months include, recording our first E.P with our new material, gig as much as possible and play regularly outside if Newcastle
