Artist Description

Finite are a Novacastrian band with a difference. They breathe new life into a lagging hard rock genre. With influences ranging from Sunk Loto, The Butterfly Effect, Killswitch Engage and Superheist to name but a few, they constructively bring together the best of their influences to meld into their own brand of melodic hard rock.

Their music is rugged hard stuff that could virtually strip paint yet they aren't affraid of the subtleties of melodious music. They quite convincingly fuse the best of heavy and softer, more melodic rock into arguably the most aurally appealing music heard in a long time.

Finite formed in 2003 with the original two members on a quest to find the right mix of talent and personality to become members of the flegling band. The first two members were Jon and Shane, both on guitars. Having played together for 6 years, the finally decided it wasnt enough and the search was on to create a new powerhouse in the Newcastle original music scene. Hoff was the next to join. His vocal ability was a diamond in the rough. Jon and Shane knew he had talent so quickly recruited him not only because of his talent but mainly because of his personal qualities. A great friendship ensued.

The drumming poistion was next to be filled. Rhys was looking for a band for a while but he couldn't find anything he was fully into. That was until he came across Finite. According to Rhys, he knew he had found the right band from the very first riff Jon and Shane played. A long time passed without the hint of a bass player and the boys were getting frustrated at the prospect of never playing a gig. They soon decided that they were going to do a couple of gigs without a bass player and advertise on stage. This is where Jon's friend and former Gazebo bassist, Brodie came in. He threw his hand up and offerd to play bass for the band untill they found a full time bass player. The first few gigs came and went without a hitch. There was something in the air. Brodie, after considering hanging up the boots decided he wanted to join Finite and is now a full time member of the band.

The future is bright and Finite shine like a brilliant star in the gloomy skies of the Newcastle wasteland. With only five shows under their collective belt Finite are trying to pave their future in the music industry and with the potential that they have thus far shown it may only a matter of time until they are rewarded for their persistance and hard work.
