Artist Description

Fyna are a young rock band from the Central Coast who are writing and performing the freshest and most vibrant new age rock pop of this era.

Fyna is made up of three 19 year old musicians: Alex Bennison (guitar/vocals), Dave Jenkins (drums) and Tim John (bass). All members have been playing together since the age of nine and after completing their HSC they relocated to Melbourne for six weeks to record with producer Trevor Carter and film a promotional video clip. The result has sparked interest from Australia's major record labels. The boys have performed at venues ranging from the Palais Royale, Newcastle to The Mero in Sydney. They have also headlined benefit concerts for such charities as the Youth Cancer Foundation and Youth Suicide Awareness. Fyna are also popular in the local and Sydney based band competitions placing third in the state wide Youth Rock Competition and were top ten finalists in the Best Mix Online Music Competition. In the 2002 Kool Skools Awards they received credits for 'Best Song', Best Drummer', Best Lead Vocal', Best Guitarist' and 'Best Bass Player'. Recently they also placed 2nd in the Newcastle Music Week Expose Yourself Band Competition.
