Stranded Mid-Way

Artist Description

Stranded Mid-Way are a hard rock band with an edge. Their ability to incorporate many different styles into a rock song makes it so their music ranges from anywhere between metal, punk and soft rock. The band says they fit in the hard rock category but their songs have such variation.

SMW have been writing diverse and engaging material since the band was formed in the year 2001 with songwriters Thomas Somogyi (Lead vocals/Rhythm guitar) and Justin Humphries (Vocals/Lead guitar). The band gathered together at their year 10 retreat and discovered their collaborating abilities.

The name ‘Stranded Mid-way’ symbolises the diversity of their songwriting abilities. SMW have been influenced by bands such as Creed, Metallica, Pearl Jam, Godsmack and Blink 182. As a live act they keep the crowd energetic and in great anticipation with their assortment of styles.

The band: Thomas Somogyi (Lead vocals/Rhythm guitar), Justin Humphries (Vocals/Lead guitar), “Cammy the Drummer” (Drums) and Jonno (Vocals/Bass) have been together since mid 2003. At time of writing, SMW are in the planning stages of recording a single/demo in Blue Spot Studios and have been rehearsing weekly and playing gigs in the Hunter Area.

With a rapidly developing fan-base with credibility and respect from local venues and bands, Stranded Mid-way are on their way to making themselves as a popular original live act in Newcastle.
